Q: How much is a session?

2024 Pricing Guide

30 Minute Session - this is a 30 minute session and includes 20 images, which you can choose from a larger gallery of images. You can also upgrade your gallery to include all images. Mileage rates may apply. $365 + HST // Gallery upgrade - $150+HST

60 Minute Session - this is a session that will run up to 60 minutes. This is an excellent choice for people who want a wider variety of images - details, storytelling, etc. or who want location and/or outfit changes during the session. Ideal for in-home newborns as well. 50+ images. Mileage rates may apply. $475 + HST

Extended family sessions: These are priced at $550 + HST. Extended family sessions are multi-generational and include group photos and individual family photos - a great option for multiple smaller families to split the cost and get a fantastic session with their loved ones! Mileage may apply. Session length is generally around an hour and includes 50+ images. Please let me know if you’d like to discuss a longer session for extended family.

Documentary Session - this is a session that includes no posing and no direction from me. You interact as a family (usually at home) and I document without interference. This is ideal for documenting your life “right now” and includes a photo book. Begins at $750+HST for 2 hours of shooting, 100+ images, plus mileage rates if applicable. If you’re looking to go all day, a “day in the life” session can be arranged for $1650+HST and includes a large gallery of 200+ images and a photo book.

Other: Weddings are taken on a very limited basis, only in the spring/summer and priority given to family and friends. Small, intimate wedding pricing begins at $375+HST per hour, with a three hour minimum.

Mini Sessions - these are ONLY offered as an event on a specific date (ie Christmas mini sessions, Mama and Me mini sessions) and are 15 minutes, 8 images. $235 + HST

ADD ONS: Rush gallery (48 hour turnaround) - $100+HST

NEW FOR 2022: ALL OUTDOOR SESSIONS, unless otherwise discussed due to special circumstances/locations, will be held in the Fredericton Junction area. Exceptions: in-home newborn/family lifestyle, bulk sessions in Rothesay/Saint John. Please contact me to discuss options.

Q: What is included in a session?

A: A session includes on location or in-home photography for the duration of the selected session, as well as an online gallery of high-resolution images for you to download, share, and print at your leisure. New for 2023: this also includes a style guide and all necessary communications/guidance prior to your session.

Q: How will my photos be delivered?

A: Photos are delivered via Shootproof, which is an online gallery system. You will be able to download the entire gallery onto your computer, or photos (one at a time) onto your phone. It is your responsibility to download the photos and back them up - galleries need to be archived after a couple of months to make room for more. If you prefer a different delivery method, you can provide a USB drive and can pickup when ready.

NEW FOR 2021: An unarchival fee of $55 will be charged if I need to reupload your images. Please take care to download AND back up your gallery within 2 weeks of receiving it.

Q: What is your turnaround time for delivering photos?

A: I generally tell clients to expect their gallery to be delivered within 2-3 weeks for portrait sessions, and 6-8 weeks for weddings. As always, wait times depend on season (in the fall I am often backlogged; in other seasons, I may be able to deliver faster). If you need photos by a certain date, please book at least 2-3 weeks in advance.

Q: What are my payment options and when do I pay?

A: I take cash or EMT, and I require payment in full by the date of the session. I am happy to accommodate payment plans, but photos will not be delivered until final payment is made.

Q: What happens if the weather is poor?

A: We simply reschedule! I take a limited number of sessions, especially during my busy time, so I can leave some open days for rescheduling. It does not have to be sunny for me to shoot, but I do not shoot in steady rain or in temperatures under -10C with windchill.

Q: What if my child is sick?

A: Please do not attend our scheduled session if any of your family members are sick. I have no problem rescheduling.

Q: Do you do weddings?

A: I take an extremely limited number of weddings, and only in spring/summer, with a maximum of six hours. Feel free to contact me if you think this may work for your event. I do not discriminate based on sexuality/gender identity and will happily and fully participate in your special day.

Q: Do you offer birth photography?

A: Birth photography is amazing! I have done birth photography and have found it extremely rewarding; however, due to my schedule, I can only take them on in special circumstances. Feel free to contact me to discuss further.

Q: Do you offer head shots or other studio work?

A: I currently shoot either at an outdoor location or in a client’s home, and do not offer studio head shots or sessions at this time.

Q: What should I wear?

A: I am a huge fan of clients wearing what they want. What do you love? What are you comfortable in? That’s what I want you to wear. It doesn’t have to look like you stepped out of a magazine - I just want you to look and feel like you. I do suggest making sure your family is dressed to a similar degree of ‘fancy’ or ‘casual’, and leaving things like phones, sunglasses, and keys with me or in a safe place rather than pockets. Neon colours often do not photograph well.

I also have a “what to wear” guide that I can send upon request to paying clients.

Q: Where do you shoot?

A: If you are coming to me, I have several options for locations, depending on your preference. I have access to river, field, and forest. I am open to whatever you are excited about! I can shoot at a location meaningful to you as well, subject to mileage. Perhaps most importantly, I often shoot right at clients’ homes. At the bottom of this page are photos from locations close to me (plus, if you come to me, you do not need to pay extra for mileage!).

Q: Can I get the RAW files/all of the photos/everything in black-and-white?

A: Maybe the last one ;) but I only deliver photos that are representative of my work. For that purpose, I do not give “all” photos, nor will I give out unedited RAWs. If you prefer the look of black and white, let me know ahead of time and I’ll accommodate that. Most of what I deliver is in colour with a few black and whites added in if I think the photo translates well in monochrome.

Q: How do I prepare my home for an in-home session?

A: I usually ask that you have blinds/curtains open to let in lots of light, and if you have a big bed, to have it made and cleared of clutter immediately to its left and right. Other than that? Whatever goes. Your home is your home - if there are toys on the floor and dishes in the sink, it doesn’t matter! I photograph my own life with honesty and it often includes dog hair, empty glasses on cupboards, clothes on the floor, and fingerprints on windows. But that’s us!

Q: Do you offer mini sessions?

A: I have only offered mini session events a handful of times in my 10-year career as they are time consuming and difficult to reschedule if weather doesn’t cooperate. I do not offer individual mini sessions, but lots of notice will be given on my Facebook business page if I end up offering a mini event.

Q: What if my kid doesn’t smile/cooperate?

A: I’ll do my best to snap authentic images of your child! That said, some children are naturally sober, and some children don’t enjoy the process of having a photo session. I cannot guarantee any specific images relating to your child’s cooperation.

Q: Do you offer products?

A: Yes! I can absolutely order prints and other photographic gifts for you from my chosen pro printing lab. I do not require that you purchase through me, but it’s a great way to get high-quality prints.

Q: Can I bring my dog?

A: Yes! I love dogs and welcome them. Just be courteous and prepared for some shots without pup.

PLEASE NOTE: I always wear a mask during in-home newborn sessions and will for the foreseeable future, for the safety of your priceless new baby. Obviously, you do not have to wear a mask at your own session and nothing else is required of you.
